And Let It Begin...

Today band camp officially starts. I have band camp Monday through Friday 1:00pm to 8:00pm. We have an hour for dinner, thankfully. And we're not outside for the whole thing, which makes it better.

I want to be in color guard in college, so I know this is preparing me for band camp in college. I'm excited for our first home game, because we are changing so many things this year. People will be amazed at how much better we are this year. The best part about band camp this year is we're having judges from WGI (Winter Guard International) come up and help us make our half-time show better. Everything we're doing from the sets, to the music is completely original, which means no other band will perform this half-time show! Cool! :D

Well, I felt like I should write this because I know I won't have time to write during this week. I'll be extremely tired, but it'll be worth it in the end. So tata for now! :)

7-16-2012

I decided to post this now, because this week shall be very busy and I won't have time to post this later....

Tomorrow color guard practice starts up again and I'm extremely excited! We had the whole last week off due to some law in Indiana, and even though it was relaxing, I missed guard. Wednesday guard gets to go back to Zumba classes, which are really fun! :) It gets me energized, and I wish we could go to Zumba classes everyday.

Then Friday, I'm having a huge campout with a group of friends. I can't wait! I loving camping, and I'm ready to roast some marshmellows. I like mine burnt, and some of my friends call me crazy for that but I don't care. I love burnt marshmellows.

Sunday my friend is having a birthday party at a water park (I forgot the name) and I'm super pumped for that! Water parks are a BLAST, even though I hate water slides. I hate deep water, and heights and most of the water slides are pretty high up in the air. I'm more of a wave-pool, lazy river type of girl when it comes to water parks. Plus, I am definitely going to buy some dip-n-dots for sure! I love, love, love dip-n-dots and it's been awhile since I had some.

All in all, this week is sure to be a blast and I'm going to love every second of it :D

I'm Back!(:

Well, it's been awhile since I've been on here. Life as a high school student can get crazy busy. So, I'm just going to recap how my year has been going so far.

This year I made parade captain of the color guard team along with Katie!(: It's been really fun as a captain. True, it is more responsibility but that's totally fine with me. I think that the perfect captain would be helpful, nice and someone who is dedicated. I'm no where near perfect, but that's how I act as a captain. ^.....

December of 2011 I finally got my drivers permit! (YAY!) It makes me feel more 16 now that I can drive behind the wheel. I can actually get my license any day now if I want to. But just because I can get my license doesn't mean I can act all goofy behind the wheel. I reallllly can't stand it when people are distracted while they're driving. I could go on and on and on about that topic, but I won't. I'll save that for another post later.

Along with being the color guard captain, the NPHS marching band got to perform at the Indy 500 this year!!!!!!!!!! :D It was my second time performing there, and I feel really, truly blessed. It was miserably hot, but I am so thankful for having the opportunity to perform twice there.

Speaking of marching band, we got a new band director this year. I was really sad when we found out that Mr. Belsaas was leaving. Honestly, I cried a lot! I'm even getting teary eyed just thinking about it. I know it might seem strange for a teenager to cry about a teacher retiring, but he's been my teacher since 6th grade. I never imagined being a junior or senior in high school band without him. He was like a second father to us kids because of the many things he would do for us. He checked our grades and made sure we were keeping up with our schoolwork. He would laugh and make funny jokes with us, and he would listen if we needed someone to talk to. He really was the best teacher I had by far. But I like our new band director this year. She just got out of college at IU, and performed at the Super Bowl with Madonna. Talk about amazing!

Soooooo, that's all I have for now. :)
